Looking for affiliate ads to put on my blog. Since this is a sex related blog, Google AdSense is not a viable option. So here I am researching how to monetize a blog and researching companies other than Google who offer ads for blogs and what I find is quite over whelming. Most of these companies are major conglomerates with 50 to 100 employees and CEO's who went to Harvard and have MBA's and are all fancy schmancy. Some times in life it seems the need and the offered solution are far apart. :)
It reminds me, I personally knew a guy who moved here from a far away USA state via a message from God to start a church locally here in South Florida. This guy and his newlywed wife come here with one mission, that is to share the message of Jesus. That Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He loves us and we are to have a personal relationship with Jesus as the proper way to go about life. That was his simple mission.
Well, today, his church has tens of thousands of followers. The property this church sits on comprises about 10 city blocks, or in other words, if you are driving on the road out side of this church property, you'd drive perhaps half a mile along the road and your still see the church buildings. The church now has hundreds of employees and the pastor who came here with his wife perhaps 20 or so years ago, now makes about $200,000 a year pastoring this church and he lives in a 4,000 or so square foot house.
As far as big time hot shot pastors and ministries go, $$$ wise, he is kinda low on the totem pole. Benny Hinn, Pastor Paula White and other televangelists make $200,000 in a month, never mind a year.
Some times in life, it seems some thing that is so simple, gets made into some thing that is so complex. An auto mechanic who charges $80 an hour for his labor. A lawn mower repair shop that charges $70 an hour for their labor. If that is not enough, some of the dishonest ones will try and scam you and repair things that are not broken, simple to pad your bill and line their pockets with more cash.
The simple concept of mowing a lawn has now transformed into a big time money making conglomeration very similar to small town pastors turning into mega rich preachers that have personal Lear jets and preach the gospel of Jesus jet setting all around the world.
Think of it, the message of Jesus comes from words that are in the bible. That is a very simple concept. How did THAT get transformed into a major money making operation?
Commercial lawn mowers can cost $10,000 and $20,000, to mow a lawn! The lawn mower shops want their big chunk of the $$$ share of that. The manufacturers and marketers want their $$$ share. Every one is looking to gouge every one. It almost seems if society is filled with the big time money makers and on the other end are those who are scrounging and just getting by.
It makes me wonder if capitalism is a good thing? I don't know what the alternative may be, but I surely think that most every one is trying to fuck some one else over for money. Whether it be a dentist, a doctor, an auto mechanic, a church leader or even a company who offers ads for people who have blogs :), every one seems to be cash hungry and chasing after money. In every form of human life, some one is looking to charge lots of $$$ for what they offer.
Money money money, the necessary evil and drive in life........
