First off, I do not label priests being homosexual as a derogatory description. I say it in the same manner that you would label a woman who has sex with strangers in exchange for cash, a prostitute.
Many people wonder why is it that so many priests, after many years of being a priest, end up causing the Catholic church so many millions of $$$ in pay offs pertaining to all the boys the priest molested over the years. I will try to explain to you what happened.
You will have to listen to my axiom, theory and analysis of how sailing relates to this truth. Sailing is what a person does on a sail boat. A sail boats primary method of propulsion is wind, in which the boats sail catches and it moves the boat forward.
If I were to ask you to go sailing with me on my boat, there are a couple latent things that are assumed with out saying. #1. You don't have a fear of boats or the water. #2. You generally kinda enjoy the concept of sitting on a boat and having wind propel you.
Some people prefer power boats. Some people prefer sail boats and some people prefer no boats at all, they would rather not be on the water. Those who do not like being on the water simply do not go boating, they stay on land.
Back to priests. The general concept and precept of being a priest is having an understanding that you will remain celibate the rest of your life and give up marriage to a woman and sex with any human in exchange for your love of God.
Since humans are generally selfishly motivated, right from the get go you have to understand that no normal or typical boy or young man would take on such a proposition of becoming a priest unless he was already predestined to what a priests life is all about.
In other words, if you are a boy or young man who already is attracted to other boys or men and are not attracted to women, you already have the inner workings which will allow you to commit to a life of non-marriage and non sex with women.
What the priest is not publicly admitting is that this whole priest gig works for him because he is gay and giving up a heterosexual life of marriage and sex with girls was never part of his interests any way.
We must add another variable to the equation. Way back when, when most priests signed up to become priests, our country, the united states of America, was going through a depression. You think the economy sucks now? Back then it sucked, swallowed and there wasn't even Viagra to make your cock hard enough to shoot. It was bad, it was bleak.
So what was a young gay boy to do? He was to join the priesthood where there would be no sex with women and also he did not have to worry about his financial future, cause the church would take care of him, much like in the same manner of being in prison for life for murder. Sure, you lost your freedom, but you get 3 squares a day, you've got a roof over your head and free air conditioning too.
So now 10 or 20 years rolls by and the priest is doing his priestly activities with in the church. Here is what happens. In his heart of hearts he gives in to his inner desire motivation. His homosexuality comes to the surface and damn it life is short and he caters to those inner impulses.
There is a boy. An innocent boy. The boy may be 7 years old, or 10 or 12. The boy is probably a church member and the child of a very nice conservative mother and father. At some point with in communication with the priest, the priests inner drives are gonna cause him to cross the line and perhaps touch the boy inappropriately.
Like all progressions of sinful pleasurable activity, before ya know it the priest is sucking the boy off. The priest is coming to full fruition and he is getting to experience his homosexual desires and still remain under the cloth of the priesthood.
Does this happen to ALL priests? No. Only 10% of them. The other 90% sublimate or never have this sexual aberration arise. There are however more latent homosexuals who are priests than any other more traditional occupation.
What to make of all of this? If you have no boys who go to church, nothing. Your daughters are safer in church than they are in a gay bar, so have no fear about them.
