Crazy Real Life Logic to Share With You

Every human being is unique.  On the other hand, every human being is basically the same.

We all basically have the same body parts.  OK ok, I am not talking about birth defects.  Generally speaking we all have the same basic needs and desires.

This blog is about 6 months old, give or take.  You would think a blogger is really up on all things techy.  You know, like really into computers, digital cameras and all the latest tech equipment.  I am the opposite of that person! :) ha ha ha.  Ever hear of a beeper? (aka a pager)  I had one till a couple of years ago.  It is only in the past few years that I replaced it with a cell phone.

Digital camera?  I bought one perhaps 6 or so years ago.  It wasn't user friendly.  I hate having to learn how to do some thing.  I gave it to a friend with the intent that she would use it and then show me how to use it.  She never gave it back and I never bought another digital camera.

I must have owned 10 to 15 different computers over the past 10 years.  I never bought a new one.  I always bought used ones that were a few years old, gone over via the computer store tech that I would buy them from.

Most all of those computers, I used with out speakers, which means my computers are always silent.  They have no sound.  You would think a blogger would really be into the latest digital cameras and latest sound equipment.  Every video review I have written in the past 6 months since this blog had started, I EXCLUSIVELY only SAW the video, I HEARD none of them.  That is until today.

I always thought it too complex to hook up speakers to my computers, so I never did.  I simply enjoyed my computers silently.  Oh yes, I have PC speakers in my closet, I just never hooked them up.  Today I did a Google search, seeking instructions on how to hook up my speakers.  To my astonishment, I was able to hook them up and have them working, in about 10 minutes.

It reminds me of some thing.  I saw a man walking down the street today.  He was wearing shorts.  His shorts revealed that one of his legs from the knee down was prosthetic.  He was walking fast and almost as smooth and efficient as if he had two natural legs.  The fact that he was missing one leg from the knee down was not holding him back.

Why did I use computers for 10+ years and never hook up speakers to them?  I never felt hearing or sound was a necessary requirement of doing computer work.  I know, it sounds crazy.  I also always thought that my writing would improve because I was 100% concentrating on thought and not sound.

Since I hooked up speakers to this computer today, for the first time in many many years, I can hear things on the computer in addition to see them on the monitor.  May not sound like a big deal to YOU, cause you're probably a normal typical computer user who has sound aka speakers with his (or her) PC. :)

I listened to 5 songs tonight on my computer.  Each song is interesting for a different reason.

Song #1.  Simon and Garfunkel.  I am a Rock.  I am putting a date or age to my self via sharing that when I was in kindergarten or first grade, the teacher used this song as a teaching tool.  I am a rock, I am an island.  It was supposed to teach you to mix with people, to need people and not be a loner.  I will post the lyrics below and also a You Tube link to you can hear and see the video. Click here to hear the song. >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My9I8q-iJCI

Song #2. Shakira.  Objection Tango.  Just listen to the words and to the music.  Very unique and very interesting IMO. The lyrics are within this very lively You Tube song.  Click here. >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMEpDp3QPQw

Song #3. Pinball Wizard.  By The Who.  Pinball Wizard sings the story of a guy who was deaf, dumb and blind and how he played a pin ball machine.  Since this man could not hear, speak or see, his other senses were so strong that he excelled at playing the pin ball game.  Hence he was the Pin Ball Wizard.  Simply a quite meaningful song. Song #4 Fire.  By Arthur Brown.  Just a strange song.  If you hear it, you'll know what I mean. Click here. >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib9KIrnlYEc&feature=related

Song #5. Eric Burden and The Animals.  San Francisco Nights. An unusual song with meaningful lyrics pertaining to San Francisco.  Click here to hear the song. >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjqRsWSO-g8&feature=related

I feel like I have a new toy now.  My computer has sound!!  ha ha ha

It is not until you do not have some thing that you feel you need, that you miss it.

I never felt I needed speakers or sound on a computer, hence I never missed it.  Now that I have it, it makes the computer almost surreal or 3 dimensional.

I AM A ROCK

A winter's day
In a deep and dark December;
I am alone,
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

I've built walls,
A fortress deep and mighty,
That none may penetrate.
I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain.
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

Don't talk of love,
Well, I've heard the word before.
It's sleeping in my memory.
I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died.
If I never loved I never would have cried.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.
